Chewy M&M Cookies

Whew. It's been a week already. I've definitely not had a chance to post recipes like I would've liked, but I thought I'd share one that I made today. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I realized right before I got started that my camera was out of batteries. Hope you enjoy!

Pecan Chocolate Chip Bagels

I have been wanting to try my hand at these for awhile. I love bagels. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...I'll take them any time of the day. Never with cream cheese though. Gross. Have I mentioned I don't like dairy? Usually I top mine with a little peanut butter, almond butter or preserves. And I have to say, these are really good with peanut butter. I may or may not have already eaten two of them.

These really weren't hard to make, they just took awhile because of having to rise for an hour, boil for 2 minutes & then bake for 15 minutes. I'll definitely be making these again. I'm already dreaming of other combinations. Apple Cinnamon, Cranberry Orange, Lemon Blueberry...

Fruit Salsa with Baked Cinnamon Chips

Happy Friday! Hope you're staying cool inside or by the pool because it is HOT! The kind of hot where you step outside early in the morning and it's already hard to take a breath because of the humidity. I love spending as much time as possible outside, but with the heat index hitting triple digits today, I think I'll stick with the AC.

This recipe is a nice twist on your normal salsa. I love serving it with cinnamon tortilla or pita chips. But it's also great to serve on chicken or fish. It's nice to make during the summer because the fruit is in season, which means it's cheaper!

Cinnamon Apple Chips

Here's a yummy & healthy snack to help you cut down on all those potato chips! Making your own apple chips is super easy and it's a great alternative to some of the unhealthy options we tend to gravitate toward. Kids love them too!

This is a really easy recipe, but it takes awhile for them to dry out in the oven. So make sure you start this when you'll be home for a couple hours. I usually will put them in the oven after I make dinner, because I know we'll be home the rest of the night.

Monograms & Margaritas Shower

This past weekend my mom & I threw a wedding shower for my future sister-in-law. We picked a really fun theme, Monograms & Margaritas, and had a great time planning everything. Michael & Meagan are getting married in November, and this was their first shower, so we had a wonderful time kicking off their wedding events!

Chocolate Toffee Saltines

I'm going to switch it up tonight and share a sweet recipe. These are so good. Not healthy, but so good. I make toffee a lot during the holidays, but this was the first time I've made it with saltines. I loved how they turned out!

Redneck Caviar

This was one of everyone's favorites this weekend. It's great with tortilla chips or to eat as a cold side dish, and it is SO easy. I made my own dressing, but you could also just use a bottle of italian dressing. This is a great dish to bring to share because it's quick and easy to make a large amount.

Crockpot Chex Mix

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great 4th of July. David and I had a wonderful weekend at the lake with his family, and now I'm in Nashville for a week to visit my family. And after my 7 hour drive turned into a 10 hour drive yesterday because of traffic, I am VERY happy to be here!

I made some really easy & tasty treats last week to share at the lake, so I'll be sharing those throughout this week. First recipe up is this Crockpot Chex Mix! It was the first time I've made homemade chex mix in the crockpot, but it was so easy and it left the oven free for me to make other things. It also allowed me to make a lot more at one time instead of just being able to fill single baking sheets. This will definitely be the way I make it from now on!

Look for new recipes next week...

Hello friends! Sorry for the lack of recipes over the last week. We got back from vacation on Sunday night, are leaving for the lake in about 30 minutes and then I leave for Nashville on Sunday. Basically after next week I'll have been in our apartment for a total of 3 days in 3 weeks. So needless to say life is a little crazy right now.

BUT I've been making some really fun treats this week to take to the lake with us, and I can't wait to share them with you guys next week! Have a wonderful 4th of July!

Kitchen Tips: Slicing a Watermelon

I came across this tip recently, and couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it myself! We love buying watermelon during the summer, but I hate having to cut the rind off each piece. I tried this new way of slicing up my watermelon and I couldn't believe how much faster it was.
